Beijing Man came to KL

Our "long lost friend" from Beijing came to visit recently. He is the Beijing Man. Any STOBA 78ers who drop into Beijing have to kow tow to him and pay him our respect! On this rare occasion Raymond Chen came calling into Ipoh, KL and Singapore to pay us his visits!

This report is by our So Kee Mun....................

Kee Mun: Nothing much ! Drink & Drink & Drink. Started at 5.30p.m. at One-bar & followed with a long while waiting for Fook Keong to come by & follow with another round of waiting for Soo Weng to confirm her attendance for the dinner. Dinner started at 9.00 p.m. with Raymond & Fook Keong sang couples of song.

One bar again after the dinner. Liquor consumption~ 1.5 litres of Gordon Bleu during Happy Hour & a Bottle of 1.5 litres Red wine Dinner time & 1 litre of CHINA's tyep Whisky + 750 ml of Camus . Whole Thing finished at 12.30 a.m. the next day.

他乡”虽”有烈酒,家中才有自由

The group met at 5pm for Old Town Coffee at SUMMIT Subang Jaya.

Then some went for foot massage and the evidence has been captured on photos......

Wah!

Beer O'Clock followed with the golden liquid flowing at Bar One. Then we tracked to CHINA COURT for the all-important Dinner with the whole group.

The food was fantastic but we had 2 people who were vegetarian and so the rest had a bit more to eat. So much so our KAPITAN and VICE CHAIRMAN became quite uncomfortable in his gut with the amount of food he ate and the Chinese wine he drank.

And Kee Mun was the only faithful Hawaiian who wore his Hawaiian shirt for the dinner. Too bad the rest of us was more casually attired or else it would have been like a mini Hawaii 50?! And he was the one person from our Ipoh Mali group; so KM, well done!

Some in the group adjourned to BAR ONE after dinner for more funky music and Cordon Bleu. Such was the high life and it was very hard living (Ha ha ha).... When the clock struck 12 and Hari Raya was here we bid each other good bye and au voir till we meet next time .....

Scene One - Happy Hour

Captain Allen has arrived his hometown today.

After running around the town with KM looking for his favourite food, he settled in ' Summer Paradise ' for a Happy Hour session with the Ipoh Mali gang.

The Happy Hour started from 5.00pm and was attended by Kee Mun, Tong Leong, Hock Choong, Kong Jie, Bao Bao, Tali & 2 new faces : - Ooi Boon Hock & Leong Khai Choung.

Our ' Coke Ambassador '- Wong Sir also turned up for this session.

Rounds of beers & jokes , minus the *' 魚 ' and the karaoke by Jeffrey Ong, it's a fun-filled Happy Hour in this ' Paradise ' .....

Hahahaha.......

Scene Two - Dinner

After many suggestions & objections, the final place for dinner was decided, thanks to Hock Choong's proposal - a nearby restaurant named Soon Fatt Restaurant.

So, the whole group of 50 years old ( minus Bao Bao & Khai Choung ) decided to go for makan by walking...

Everybody enjoyed the delicious food & of course, a few rounds of beer....

The group also enjoyed the 'romantic ' walking in the rain back to Summer Paradise after the dinner.

Scene Three - inside Wong Sir's car
Time : 9.05pm

“ 嘟嘟！嘟嘟 ！嘟嘟 ！”
“ 哈啰 ？”
“ 喂，老婆！我返哽來啦！”

It was a sunny morning on Saturday 21/8/2010 when we sent Ek Kok off. Members from the budhhist group were there.

Our classmates that turned up were AuChee, Jeff, Kong Ho and wife, Yee Hong, Seng Kian,Philip, and Chun Ngan who came all the way from Butterworth.

Yeah, 22nd Aug was his b'day. In fact, he had planned to meet us one more time by inviting us to his new residence for house warming. According to the youngest sister, Serena, since our met up last year, EK were indulging to go over all the photos we posted frequently.

He would tirelessly introducing us to his family from the photos and felt joyful. He looked forward most to our scheduled gatherings and at times called me numerously to confirm.
A simple, but honest, hounorable, intelligent, silently hard working, kind and wisdomised soul he was. Together with his family, we will miss him for a long time.

Serena asked me to thank you , on her family behalf, those came in these few nites. Thanks also to those who sent in or convey their condolences. Chan Chee Leong (S2) from Canada called to KM to convey his condolence. Ooi Boon Hock called from B'worth. Friends from S2 have called in as well.

HAWAII 50 - DINNER

The highlight of Hawaii 50 was the Dinner held at The Oversea Restaurant. The food was good, the service impeccable, the golden liquid was even better; at least to those who desired them! One thing for sure, there were quite a few damaged livers after the dinner .....

The company and companionship was the highlight of the dinner event. We renewed friendships and camaraderie; and made promises that "We will see you again next year".

Special thanks to all the teachers who attended the dinner. Your presence made a big difference.

Special mention is due of those who have come from far away lands - from Shanghai, Dubai and Singapore. KL folks, we appreciate your presence too.

Can HAWAII 51 top this? We shall see. KL folks we are looking forward to your show!
